As 2018 draws to a close, the BSA journals will be publishing the latest research in their December issues.
Cultural Sociology covers a variety of topics, from human trafficking, to the relationship between performance and power in social movements, to cultural engagement in older people’s lives. There’s also a Regional Spotlight on France with the article, ‘What does ‘Culture’ Mean in French? A Theoretical Mapping and Fractal Analysis of the Sociology of Culture in France’.
The December issue of WES includes articles on the topics of household poverty, the disadvantage of Muslim women in the British labour market and an On the Front Line article exploring the working life of a NGO worker in Kerala.
Ableism and wheelchair bodybuilding, social protest during Ireland’s fiscal crisis and colonial legacies of language requirements are just some of the articles that Sociology will be publishing to round up the year. Medical sociology will also be represented with the following articles: ‘Social Representations of Diagnosis in the Consultation’ and ‘Exploring Difference or Just Watching the Experts at Work? Interrogating Patient and Public Involvement (PPI) in a Cancer Research Setting using the Work of Jurgen Habermas’.
