As Members of the Board of the BSA, we express solidarity and concern for our fellow sociologists involved in UCU-led Action-Short-Of-A-Strike (ASOS), the national marking boycott and localised strike action regarding the reduction in pay, due to ASOS.

We are aware that some Universities are deducting 50% or 100% pay for ASOS and non-marking. We recognise too the impact of the strikes on all Sociology students, especially those due to graduate this year.

We therefore ask Vice Chancellors to urge UCEA to engage with UCU to resolve this dispute.
