The Sociology of Education Study Group are seeking to recruit two new convenors and they’d like to hear from anyone interested in the group’s concerns which include, but are not limited to:
- Education and society
- Young people and education
- Educational inequalities
- Theories of education and their critical application to contemporary and historical education systems, practices and experiences
- Methods for researching educational settings
To improve the range of activities the group is able to offer and increase the group’s impact, we are looking to recruit two enthusiastic BSA members who will be able to organise and facilitate events and contribute to the intellectual development of the group and the Sociology of Education’s profile in general. At present the study group has around 150 members, with a strong following on Twitter and Facebook. A key aspect of the new convenor’s role would be to utilize social and digital media to develop the membership.
If you are interested in becoming a convenor we ask that you write a brief summary of your academic position and experience and outline your interests in Sociology of Education alongside a brief outline of how you think you will be able to contribute to the group’s development.
Please email Nicola Ingram and Michael Ward.
Expressions of interest from members at all career stages are welcome, but convenors must be current BSA members.
Deadline for Expressions of interest: 31 July 2019.
